The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is one of the largest technological universities in India with 24 years of tradition of excellence in Engineering and Technical Education, Research, and Innovations. It came into existence in 1998 to cater to the needs of Indian industries for trained technical manpower with practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge. University has successfully achieved the tremendous task of bringing various colleges affiliated earlier to different Universities, with different syllabi, procedures, and traditions under one umbrella. The university has 182 affiliated colleges, 1 constituent college, and 25 Autonomous colleges with undergraduate programs in 37 disciplines, PG programs in 96 disciplines, and Ph.D. & M.sc(Engg.)  research programs with 7 faculty, over 3 lakh Engineering Students study in the various institutes affiliated to the University. 

VTU has a Centralised Placement Cell (CPC), which is a helping hand to the student community in finding out their dream job. CPC is committed to providing all possible assistance to the students of our PG centers, Constituent College, and 219 affiliated engineering colleges (offering UG & PG programs in various disciplines of Engineering/Technology/Management) to find employment. The CPC operates year-round to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates.

VTU Placement Process

• VTU invites recruiters to the university for placement.
• VTU then negotiates with the recruiters regarding information like eligibility, package, openings, etc.
• VTU then collects the job descriptions from various companies to prepare for the placement drive.
• The university then provides the students with the placement registration link so that they can apply to the companies of their preference.
• The students will now be required to share their resumes with the companies they have applied for so that their resumes can get shortlisted.
• The shortlisted students will then be invited for personal interviews. In some cases, companies also invite students for group discussions and aptitude tests. This is done to assess the candidate's knowledge, skills, and communication skills. 
• Candidates who perform well in their interviews and other activities will then receive a job offer from the company or multiple companies. This includes details like Job Description, Company details, terms and conditions, salary, etc. Once the job offer is accepted by the student then they cannot sit for any other interview process.
• After accepting the job offer the students will then receive the offer letter from the company. This is a written contract that confirms the terms of employability. It talks about the details of the job, salary, benefits, and other details.

VTU Placement 

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) placement reports have not been released by the university. We can take a look at the NIRF placement report submitted by VTU for the Management and Engineering programs. As per the report, the median package for the MBA and M.Tech courses for 2022 was INR 3.65 LPA, and 3.73 LPA respectively.
