Madras University accepts students for M.A., M.Com, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, M.Phil, PG Diploma, Diploma, and Certificate programs. The university conducts entrance exams for PG programs as well as PG Diploma, Diploma, and Certificate programs. Madras University considers a valid TANCET score for MBA, MCA, and M.Tech courses.

The MBA and M.Tech programs last two years, while the MCA program lasts three years. The Anna University conducting body creates the TANCET cutoff list.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55 percent in aggregate from a recognized university. TANCET MBA Syllabus will be divided into four divisions.
TANCET MBA course syllabus comprises:
- Business Analysis
- Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Data Sufficiency
Students will receive one mark for each correct answer and one-third of a mark for each incorrect response. The total number of questions will be 100, with 20 questions in each segment.

Madras University MCA Selection Process:
Students who want to study MCA at Madras University must have a B.Sc in Computer Science or Mathematics as an obligatory topic or a BCA program. Students must have a valid TANCET MCA score to be considered for the selection process.

Madras University M.Tech Selection Process
Applicants should have completed MA/M.Sc with Geography/Geology/ Physics/ Environmental Studies/Computer science or must have done a B.E. degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
The syllabus of TANCET MCA contains 3 sections namely part 1, part 2, and part 3 which have topics:
- Calculus and Differential Equations
- Transforms, Functions of Complex Variables & Complex Integration
- Applied Probability, and several others
