The establishment of Indian Institute of Science, widely known as IISc, took place in the academic year of 1909. The institute is located in Bangalore. It has been given the status of Deemed University is the year 1958. The institute has been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with grade ‘A+' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
