IIM Nagpur: Admission Process and Selection Criteria
IIM Nagpur MBA Selection Process:
Their selection process for the MBA program involves three stages, all carefully crafted to set you on a path of success.
Stage 1: Once you’ve taken CAT 2023 and surpassed IIM Nagpur’s minimum requirement, an email arrives, inviting you to apply for their MBA program. This email is your chance to apply for IIM Nagpur’s MBA program. Remember, only those who submit a complete application will move forward in IIM Nagpur’s admission process. For those who’ve applied online to IIM Nagpur will be shortlisted for the next round of PI that is guided by the Shortlisting Score (SS) devised by IIM Nagpur, calculated from your CAT score and Gender Diversity score.
Stage 2: It includes two scores
- CAT Score: IIM Nagpur calculates your CAT score as a ratio of what you’ve achieved to the maximum possible, scaling it between 0 and 10.
- GDI Score: Here’s where IIM Nagpur values diversity. A 10-point score is reserved exclusively for female and transgender candidates.
Now, let’s put it all together. The Shortlisting Score (SS) can be figured out using this formula:
SS = 0.85 * (CAT Score) + 0.15 * (GDI Score)
So, whether you’re aiming high with your CAT score or adding diversity points, IIM Nagpur is considering it all. Prepare yourself, because IIM Nagpur’s personal interview could be just around the corner!
Stage 3
After making the cut in stage 2, candidates get their shot at a personal interview right at IIM Nagpur’s campus. Once these interviews wrap up, the spotlight shifts to the final score. This score, known as the Final Score (FS), is pieced together using several ingredients: the CAT score, PI score, past academic performance (PAP) score, work experience (WE) score, and gender diversity (GDI) score.
It all comes together through this simple formula:
FS = 0.50 * (CAT Score) + 0.25 * (PI Score) + 0.05 * (PAP Score) + 0.10 * (WE Score) + 0.10 * (GDI Score)
