The Central University of Tamil Nadu Latest Update:
- The CUET PG's last date for online submission of the Application Form was extended from January 24 2024 to January 31, 2024. The examination will be held from March 11, 2024, to March 28, 2024.
- CUET UG application will tentatively begin in the first week of February. The examination will held from May 15, 2024, to May 31, 2024.
Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) is a Central University located in Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India, and Prof. M. Krishnan is the Vice-Chancellor of this Central University, which now has over 2,000 students in 27 Departments under 12 Schools. Various UG, PG, and Integrated courses in the fields of science, management, humanities, etc. are offered by the university. The results of the CUET UG and CUET PG entrance exams determine admission to all UG and PG programs.
The application mode for this institute is both online and offline. The admission criteria are merit-based and entrance-based. The entrance exam accepted is CUET

Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) Admission Criteria for Ph.D. Programs
Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have successfully completed:
- A minimum of 55% overall in a 1-year, 2-semester Master’s program (following a 4-year undergraduate program), or an equivalent grade of "B" on the UGC 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in any point scale used for grading), or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution approved by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency, acknowledged or permitted by a body established or incorporated under a law in its nation of origin or by any other statutory body in that nation to evaluate, accredit, or guarantee the caliber and standards of educational establishments.
- A 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree program, with the same conditions as mentioned above
- 3 A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree in Research should have a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10.
- Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ’B’ in the UGC 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a Foreign Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
- A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and recommended for award of the degree, may be admitted to the Ph.D. program in any Institution on a provisional basis even before the viva-voice or final defense.
