The admission authorities of Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examinations Board (BCECEB) would be responsible authority for highlighting of BCECE Eligibility Criteria 2023. The requirements and the conditions that have been specified, would be constituting the BCECE Eligibility Criteria to be fulfilled by an aspirant. Factors such as nationality, education qualification and more such would be required to be fulfilled by the candidates. 

Failure to satisfy the eligibility criteria of BCECE would mean that the candidate cannot sit for the examination. Candidates who belong to Bihar alone would be eligible for reservation purposes. Candidates from other states would not be able to apply for reservation. A certain percentage of seats also shall be reserved for different categories through BCECE Reservation Criteria 2023.

To fill the application form of BCECE, it is required to be met by all candidates without fail. In case the candidates fail to meet specifications, his/her application shall stand rejected by admission authorities. All of the candidates would be required to go through the BCECE Eligibility Criteria completely prior to applying for the examination.

Eligibility for BCECE is mentioned below:

  • The candidate appearing for the exam must have passed class 12th (intermediate), from a recognized board having 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Math/biology.
  • The candidate belonging to the reserved category are given some relaxation in the percentage as per the norms of the government.
  • The candidate should be 17 years of age for medical and agricultural courses, however, for engineering and pharmacy courses there is no age limit.

The detailed BCECE Eligibility Criteria is as given below:

  • Nationality: Candidates applying to BCECE 2023 must be Indian Citizens. 
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates who have passed or would be appearing in their 10+2 examination in 2023 would be eligible for BCECE. 
  • QE Subjects: The candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as Compulsory Subjects. Subjects like Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subjects as mentioned. 
  • Marks Required: General category would be required to score 45% marks and candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC Category should have secured 40%.
  • Age Limit: There would be no age limit. 

BCECE Reservation 2023 Criteria

As per rule of the Government, a certain percentage of total seats would be reserved for candidates belonging to reserved categories. The Category wise reservation of seats has not been still announced by the BCECE Board. In order to be availing the reservation benefits, candidates would be required to score minimum cutoff marks in BCECE 2023 as per their category. In the course of BCECE Counseling, candidates would also be required to deposit caste certificates for admission in a reserved category.

  • 50% of the total seats would be belonging to candidates from the General category.
  • Candidates who are residents of Bihar alone can make a claim for reservation.
  • Other State Candidates cannot claim for a reservation of seat through BCECE.

BCECE Course Wise Eligibility

  1. For Engineering and Technology (Four Year) Programmes, candidates should have passed Grade 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects and one elective among Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject. 
  2. Candidates should have secured 45% (General Category) and 40% (Reserved Category) in Grade 12 of the examination. 
  3. For Four Year Pharmacy Course, students should have cleared intermediate or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and should have taken one elective subject from Mathematics/Biology/Technical Vocational subject. 
  4. Students should have scored a minimum of 45% marks (General) and 40% for Reserved for Grade 12 or equivalent. 
  5. Candidates appearing in 12th equivalent are also eligible but should have passed the appearing examination at the time of BCECE Counseling. 

Domicile - Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidate should be an Indian Citizen. 
  2. Candidate should be from the state of Bihar. 
  3. The parents of the candidate must be a permanent resident of Bihar State. 
  4. If the parents of the students are from a different state, they should be Government employees of Bihar. 

Eligibility - Other

  1. A student should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission for agriculture and medical.
  2. No minimum age limit exists for engineering and pharmacy courses as such. 
  3. Candidates should go through the medical test for admission. The candidate would be eligible for admission once they clear the test.
