The basic eligibility criteria of XAT 2023 which is scheduled to be conducted on January 8, 2023 require candidates to have qualified in their graduation i.e. they must possess a bachelor's degree in any field. One of the most important aspects of XAT Eligibility Criteria is that there is no minimum required marks percentage while applying for XAT 2023 while other exams keep it to a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in order to be eligible for taking the examination.

In other words, we can say that XAT Eligibility Criteria is the simplest amongst the other National Level Management Entrance examinations.

It must be noted that the eligibility criteria for XAT 2023 have seen no changes over the past few years. The conducting authority of XAT 2023 i.e. XLRI Jamshedpur does not seem to bring changes in XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria either.

XAT Eligibility

XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must understand the eligibility criteria as per the guidelines defined by XLRI Jamshedpur. They would be allowed to take the examination only if they qualify the minimum educational qualification defined by the XAT 2021 conducting authorities.

  • NRI and Foreign candidates willing to take the examination can apply through their valid GMAT Scores.

Detailed Description of XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

No Minimum/Maximum XAT Age Limit:

  • One of the eligibility criteria for taking XAT 2023 is that there is “No XAT Age Limit” to appear in the examination.
  • Some of the examinations prescribe minimum or maximum age to apply for the examination while XLRI has set no such limitations.
  • Candidates belonging to any age group and are eligible can apply for the examination.

No Minimum Qualifying Marks:

As per the information received on the official website of XAT i.e. xatonline.in, holding a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years of duration is the only requirement to appear for the examination. XAT 2023 does not define minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for the exam.

XAT 2023 Eligibility and XLRI Eligibility

  • There is no difference in XAT 2023 Eligibility and XLRI Eligibility i.e. candidates willing to pursue their career in the filed of Management from XLRI Jamshedpur are eligible if they fulfill the eligibility criteria of XAT 2023. In other MBA exams such as CAT, the eligibility criteria of for taking the examination vary from the eligibility criteria for taking examination to the Indian Institutes of Management.
  • Alike XAT 2023 Eligibility, XLRI Eligibility does not impose any minimum marks restriction during the admission procedure.

Final Year Students Applying for XAT 2023

  • As it is already mentioned that the students in final year of their graduation can also apply for XAT 2023.
  • These students are required to have completed their graduation by 10th June 2023.

In case students of Final Year are not able to represent their bachelor's degree at the time of admission, they will be given admission to the program provisionally.

  • Besides, if the student submits a certificate stating that he/she has fulfilled all the requirements to obtain a bachelor's degree, the students will be admitted to the institute.
  • It must be noted that the certificated must be issued by the Principal or Registrar of the College or Institute the students is pursuing its degree from.

How to Check XAT 2023 Eligibility in One Go?

One of the most important questions asked by students is how to check if they are eligible for the exam or not. Students applying for XAT 2023 would be advised to abide by the below mentioned points to make sure if they are eligible to apply for XAT 2023 or not:

  1. No minimum/ maximum XAT Age Limit has been imposed.
  2. Applying candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in any field of minimum 3 years of graduation.
  3. Candidates with professional degrees such as CA/CS/ICWA are also eligible to apply for XAT 2023.
  4. Final year students can also apply for XAT 2023.
  5. XAT 2023 Marks scored by the candidates would be calculated based on the requirements defined by the preferred University of Institution.
  6. Fulfilling XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria does not mean that the student will be shortlisted by the preferred institutes or other business schools. It is important to qualify the examination to become eligible for Admission.
  7. The candidates applying through XAT admission procedure must ensure that they possess a valid email id and a phone number throughout the procedure. This mandate has been issued by XLRI to ensure authenticity of students applying for XAT 2023.

Eligibility for XLRI Programs

It is necessary to possess a bachelor's degree of at least 3 years of duration or equivalent in any specialization. Candidates in their final year of graduation will also be considered eligible for admission. All Indian candidates can appear in XAT exam while NRI and foreign candidates will be required to possess GMAT score in order to apply.

Human Resource Management (HRM) and Business Management (BM)

Eligibility Criteria – Candidates appearing for the exam must possess a bachelor's degree of at least 3 years of duration or equivalent in any field. Candidates in their final year of graduation will also be considered eligible for admission.

  • All Indian candidates can appear in XAT exam while NRI and foreign candidates will be required to possess GMAT score in order to apply. The validity of GMAT Score remains for 5 years from the date of December 1, 2017 to December 31, 2022. 
  • Besides, Indian candidates possessing GMAT Score can only apply for the General Management Programs offered by XLRI

Program Fee – INR 11.80 LPA

General Management (GM)

Eligibility Criteria - Candidates appearing for the exam must possess a bachelor's degree of at least 3 years of duration or equivalent in any field in India or abroad. They must be employed in a full-time job, possess at least 5 years of managerial experience in any organization of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector after having completed their graduation.

  • Interested candidates can apply through either XAT or GMAT Score.

Program Fee – INR 20.95 LPA

XLRI Selection Criteria

Human Resource Management (HRM) and Business Management (BM)

Step 1 – Registration for XAT 2023 through XAT/GMAT

  • Indian candidates can register through XAT Exam
  • Foreign and NRI candidates can register through XAT Score
  • Foreign and NRI candidates can register through GMAT Score

Step 2 – Shortlisting Candidates

The names of candidates applying through XAT and GMAT will be shortlisted by 31st January 2023 (tentative).

Step 3 – Interview Process

The interview procedure of HRM and BM candidates through XAT and GMAT will be scheduled during February and March 2023 in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jamshedpur.

General Management (GM)

Candidates can apply for multiple programs. Those applying for multiple shows can be invited to multiple interviews and group discussions. The selection criteria for different programs may differ depending on the type of program. The XAT written test has several components and you need to maximize your performance on each of these components. In its pursuit of academic excellence, XLRI actively encourages students from diverse backgrounds. they can take into account academic skills and relevant work experience. In addition to performance in face-to-face interviews and group discussions, XLRI also takes into account XAT performance, relevant work experience, academic skills, extra-curricular activities, etc., when compiling the final list. As they are out of the country, the monthly interviews would be conducted online. via the Internet only for the General Management Program (GMP).

Step 1 – Registration for XAT 2023 through XAT/GMAT

  • Indian candidates can register through XAT Exam
  • Foreign and NRI candidates can register through XAT Score
  • Indian candidates applying only for GMP through GMAT
  • Foreign and NRI candidates can apply for one or more programs through GMAT

Step 2 - Shortlisting Candidates

The names of candidates applying through XAT and GMAT will be shortlisted by 31st January 2023 (tentative).

Step 3 – Interview Process

The interview procedure of GMP candidates through XAT and GMAT will be scheduled during February and March 2023 in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jamshedpur.

GMP interviews can be held over G-talk/Skype for candidates applying from abroad. Candidates will be required to send an email to admis@xlri.ac.in in order to schedule their interview online after the result is declared.

XAT Exam Eligibility Reservation Policy

According to the official updates on XAT Eligibility, XLRI Jamshedpur does not provide any relaxation for candidates belonging to the general category. However, the XAT Accepting Colleges may have their own specific reservation that students can get to know about before applying for the programs offered. 

Besides, there is no concession in the XAT Application Fees for candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, and PwD. XAT 2023 Eligibility and XAT 2023 Application Fee will remain the same for all aspiring candidates. XAT 2023 Fee is INR 1800.
