Level 2 is composed of 4 papers (examinations). However only two hese papers are to be attempted compulsorily by the shortlisted candidates, the other two papers are for the candidates who have applied for specific jobs posts.
 
Paper 1 (compulsory paper) of Tier 2 examination. Which is an Quantitative Abilities test. While the syllabus of  QA tier 2 remains same as quantitative aptitude section of Tier 1 exam, the pattern of exam differs. Paper 1 comprises of 100 questions for the maximum marks of 200. Each and every correct answer is awarded 2 marks whereas incorrect has negative marking of 0.5 marks.
 
Paper 2 (compulsory paper) it is English & Comprehension test. Which feature grammar based and comprehension based question from the same syllabus pool of Tier 1 English section. This has same evaluation pattern as the QA exam.
 
Paper 3 (Statistical Investigator Gr. II and Compiler) it comprises of 100 questions from the topic of statistics. Important Topics for this paper are :-
 
Analysis of variance
Correlation and probability theory
Measures of central tendency
Measures of dispersion
Moments, skewness and kurtosis
Random variable and probability distributions
Sampling theory
Statistical
Time series
 
Paper 4 is attempted (Assistant Audit Officer) first part has 40 questions, each carrying 2 marks. It comprises of questions from the topic of Finance and Accounts. Fundamental principles and basic concept of accounting and financial accounting are asked in this part.
Second part has 60 questions, each carrying 2 marks. It comprises of questions from the topic of Economics and Governance. Important topics asked are:
Finance Commission-Role and functions
Basic Concept of Economics and Introduction to Micro Economics
Theory of Demand and Supply
Theory of Production and Cost
Forms of Market and price determination in different markets
Indian Economy
Economic Reforms in India
Money and Banking
Each Paper of Tier 3 is to be completed in 2 hours. For visually handicapped and candidates suffering from cerebral palsy the allotted time is 2 hours 40 minutes.
 
SSC CGL 2017 Tier 3 Syllabus
 Tier 3 is the descriptive examination conducted offline and involves:
 
Application Writing
Letter Writing
Essay Writing
Precis Writing
 
Tier 3 is a 100 marks paper of 60 minutes duration .Candidates are allotted time of 60 minutes to complete the descriptive written test. For visually handicapped candidates and candidates suffering from cerebral palsy the time of examination is 80 minutes.
 
It should be noted that minimum qualifying marks for this Tier 3 paper is 33%.
 
SSC CGL 2017 Tier 4 Syllabus
 It is basically Skill Test comprising of two tests.
 
Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
DEST is conducted for candidates who have applied for Tax Assistant Posts in Central Excise & Income Tax. Data entry speed skill will be tested at 8000 depressions per hour.
 
CPT (Assistant Section Officer Post) candidates will  have to appear for Computer Proficiency Test to validate the selection and showcase their comfort and ease of computer usage.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus is as described below consisting of 4 sections. The Tier 1 exam will be held between from July 25, 2,018 to August 20, 2018.
