SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam consists of 4 sections which include Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General English and General Awareness with a total of 200 questions. It is very important to make a preparation strategy for the exam. Maths & English are the most important sections as they are asked in both Tier 1 and 2. Reasoning and General Awareness are asked only in Tier 1
REASONING - Think logically.
Books to refer: Any good for reasoning would do eg. Arun Sharma for Logical reasoning.
Quantitative Aptitude -This section checks your mathematical ability. You need to be accurate as well as maintain your speed in solving the questions.
Books to refer: Try to finish RS Agarwal for Basics. Can also refer to Class 11th NCERT for Trigonometry.
General studies: Study in this order->
1. Polity
2. Science
3. History
4. Ancient history
5. Current Affairs
6. Economy
Books to refer: Just stick to NCERT particularly for History, Eco and modern History.
English- You can score well in this subject if you have prepared to the right extent.
Books to refer: SP Bakshi authored books can be referred for Grammar. Improve your vocabulary by reading a lot, in general, every day.They have a collection of vocabulary asked in previous year SSC papers and words are usually repeated in SSC.
Preparation Strategy:
- Manage your Time efficiently. You need to follow proper study routine and stick to it.

For maths, start with Geometry first, give it about a week/
1 day for basic, 1 for lines and angles, 1 for circle, 1 for the triangle, 1 for quadrilaterals and polygons. Also, go through basic algebra.Profit and loss are also super beneficial topics. - Give a lot of MOCK tests as well as practice the previous year Papers of SSC.SSC-CGL frequently repeats questions from its previous exams.
