Has NEET Application Form 2023 been released?

Yes. The NEET 2023 Application Form has been released on the official website of NEET – neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to fill NEET 2023 Application Form is April 6, 2023. Candidates must fill the form before the NEET Registration window is closed.

Changes in NEET Exam:

  • NEET Exam Centres have been revised.
  • Removal of age limit and application number criteria while preparing the merit list.
  • NEET Application Fees has been increased from INR 1600 to INR 1700.

NEET Application Form 2023 Fees has been increased to INR 1700 for General category, INR 1600 for General EWS/ OBC NCL category and INR 1000 for SC/ST/PwD category students.

NEET 2023 Registration Fees for centres outside the country is INR 9500. Candidates, while doing NEET 2023 Registration, must upload the documents required in order to fill the NEET 2023 Application Form. These documents include photograph, signature, and category certificate.

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2023 – As per the eligibility criteria of NEET 2023, candidates willing to take NEET Exam 2023 must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate (General/EWS) and candidates from SC/ST/OBC categories must secure at least 40% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the mandatory subjects. NEET 2023 Age Limit is 17 years by December 31, 2023.

Will NEET 2023 be postponed?

NEET Exam 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2023 and there has been no news on the postponement of the exam. According to the information available on the official website of NEET Exam, NEET 2023 Exam Date is May 7, 2023. In case any decisions is made by the National Testing Agency in order to postpone NEET Exam, the same will be intimated to the students through the official website of NEET.

NEET 2023 Question Paper Pattern – Until now, there have been no changes introduced in NEET 2023 Paper Pattern. The NEET Question Paper comprises of only multiple-choice type of questions. NEET Exam is conducted in 13 languages including Hindi and English.

  • NEET Exam will consist of 200 questions divided in 4 sections – Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany.
  • NEET Exam Duration is 200 minutes.
  • NEET Total Marks are 720. Section wise NEET Marks is 180.
  • Each subject of NEET paper will further be divided into 2 parts – Part A will consist of 35 questions and Part B will consist of 15 questions.
  • In part B of NEET Exam, candidates are required to answer only 10 questions out of 15. 

NTA has released NEET Exam Date and it is May 7, 2023. According to the NEET 2023 Date Schedule (tentative), the NEET UG Notification carrying complete details on NEET Exam such as application dates, fees, exam pattern, marking scheme, syllabus, exam centres, etc. will be released anytime soon now. NTA announced the NEET UG 2023 Exam Date on December 15, 2022 along with exam dates of CUET and JEE Mains Exam. It released a common calendar for these entrance exams. We can expect NEET 2023 Registration to begin in the first week of March and the window will remain open for a month at least. Besides, there are expected to be no changes in NEET Application Fees. NEET Registration Fee is INR 1700 for the students belonging to general category candidates. The amount of NTA NEET Application Fee has been increased based on the notification released by NTA.

According to the NTA exam calendar, NEET 2023 Exam Date is May 7, 2023 and the exam will be conducted in pen-paper mode. NEET 2023 notice was made available on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, in January 2023.

What is NEET Exam?

NEET 2023 Exam is a national level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS and BDS programs offered by various medical institutes operating across the country. As per the rules defined by the Medical Council of India (MCI), NEET i.e. National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the only medical entrance examination conducted every year and it is also the most important medical entrance examination that students can apply for. Qualifying the examination gets you admission to MBBS, BDS, B. Sc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other Medical/Paramedical courses across the country. NEET UG Exam is conducted in 13 languages.

NTA NEET Application Form 2023

NTA revised the method of separating the NEET application into two phases last year. We anticipate that the same method will be followed in 2023.  Candidates must complete the first set of information before the NEET 2023 registration deadline and the second set prior to the announcement of results or scorecard downloads.

Phase 1: The first phase of the NEET application form for 2023 will include registration, filling out the application form, uploading required documents and scanned photos, completing the application fee, and printing a confirmation page.

Phase 2: The second part of the NEET application form 2023 will include extra information from the first phase, such as parents' income information, a residence address, and educational information. The date for NEET Phase 2 registration will be announced later.

NEET 2023 Application Process

The NEET 2023 Application Form was released on March 6 and the NEET Registration Process has to be completed in online mode only. The last date to fill NEET Application Form is April 6, 2023. The National Testing Agency will also provide students with the facility to make corrections in their duly filled application form by opening the NEET Application Correction Window. This window is expected to begin in the month of April wherein candidates can make the necessary changes in their specific fields. This facility will only remain available for students who made the payment of NEET Application Fee.

  • Visit the NTA NEET Official Website – www.neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Navigate to and click on the tab mentioning “NEET Application Form”.
  • Read all the instructions and register yourself with your personal details such as Name, Contact Details, and Password.
  • This is how candidates can generate their NEET Application Number.
  • After the NEET Login credentials are generated, log in by entering them.
  • Fill the NEET Application Form with personal as well as educational details.
  • Select exam medium, and the exam city.
  • Upload the scanned passport sized photograph and signature.
  • Pay the NEET Registration Fee through online payment mode such as Credit/Debit Card, Paytm or UPI.

NEET Application Correction Window 2023

In order to correct any mistakes made by candidates in their NEET Application Form, the NEET Correction window will be made live by the NTA after the successful conclusion of NEET 2023 Registration. Candidates will be able to make changes through NEET Candidate Login only. The correction window of the NEET Exam will be a one-time facility only.

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2023

NEET 2023 Eligibility Criteria must be fulfilled by candidates willing to register themselves for the exam. They must ensure that they must stand eligible as per the eligibility criteria defined by the NTA. Below mentioned is the NEET Eligibility defined by the NTA:

  • Candidates must have passed 12th class with PCB and English as compulsory subjects securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
  • Candidates must have passed 12th class with PCB with at least 45% marks and 40% marks for PwD and OBC/SC/ST respectively.
  • Candidates will be considered eligible even if they opted for Biology as an optional subject.

NEET Admit Card

NEET 2023 Admit Card will be released at least a week prior to the exam commencement. The NEET Exam will be conducted in online mode. Candidates who have successfully completed the NEET Registration will be able to download their NTA NEET Admit Card by logging onto the NTA NEET 2023 Website using their login credentials. It is one most important and mandatory document that students must carry to the examination centre on NEET Exam Date. Candidates must also preserve it till the admission procedure is concluded.

NEET Admit Card 2023 will consist of details related to candidates such as personal details, exam date, exam time, exam centre, etc. Below mentioned are the steps to download NEET 2023 Admit Card:

  • Visit the official website of NEET – neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Navigate to and click on “NEET 2023 Admit Card Download” Link.
  • Enter NEET Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin and click on Submit.
  • A new window will appear consisting of your NEET Admit Card 2023.
  • Download it and take a printout for future reference.

After the NEET Hall Ticket is downloaded, candidates will be required to paste their recent coloured Postcard Size Photo for NEET (preferably the one uploaded in NEET Application Form) in the space provided. Besides, they will also be required to get their parents' signatures on the NEET Hall Ticket and aspirants will have to sign in the presence of invigilators only.

NEET 2023 Exam Pattern

The NEET 2023 Exam Pattern is expected to remain the same as that of the last year's. The exam is conducted in paper pencil based mode and total NEET Exam Duration is 3 hours and 20 minutes (200 minutes) and will consist of 200 MCQs from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Out of these 200 questions, candidates will be required to attempt 180 questions only. NEET Biology Questions are further divides between two sections namely Botany and Zoology.  Section A will consist of 35 questions while section B will have 15 questions, out of which only 10 questions need to be attempted.

Each question will carry 4 marks and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect answer as per the negative marking scheme of NEET Exam.  There will be no marks rewarded or deducted for unanswered questions. The table mentioned below explains the NEET 2023 Exam Pattern:

NEET Counselling 2023

NEET 2023 The counseling process will be carried out online for all qualifying candidates. The tentative date is September 2023. Candidates will be chosen for the NEET Counselling session based on the merit list.

The NEET 2023 counselling process will be carried out for two categories of seats: AIQ seats and State Quota seats.

  • Uploading Scanned Images

Until the last year, the candidates were required to upload scanned images of their passport sized photographs along with signature but from this year, they would be required to upload their passport sized photograph, left hand thumb impression, and their 10th class certificate to complete the application procedure.

  • Exam Centers

There would be various centers in 155 cities across the country including Ladakh which is the most recent entry in the list of Exam Centers of NEET Exam. Candidates belonging to Kashmir and Ladakh must fill a self-declaration form.

Candidates would be filling the NEET Application Form online on the official website. The candidate should retain at least 3 printouts of the confirmation page, payment of fees, 5 copies of passport size photo and 2 postcard size photos after form submission.

Candidates should ensure that they satisfy the NEET Eligibility Criteria prior to applying for the exam. The candidates should pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology individually in the qualifying examination. The candidate should have at least 50% aggregate in PCB. If a candidate belongs to SC/ST/OBC Category, the minimum marks requirement is 40%. If a candidate belongs to the UR PH Category, it is 45%.

Who can appear for NEET 2023?

  • The Lower Age Limit as on 31 December 2022 is 17 years. The upper age limit for candidates is 25 years. A relaxation of 5 years will be provided for SC/ST/OBC Category.
  • Candidates can attempt NEET UG for a maximum of 3 times. Those who have appeared for NEET UG 3 times cannot appear again for the examination. The attempt made in NEET previous year would be considered one attempt, so no candidate would be required to worry as such about the NEET Criteria 2023.
  • Candidates passing 10+2 from Open Schools or as private candidates would not be eligible for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG. Study of Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject at 10+2 level would not be permissible.

What's New This Year?

  • The National Testing Agency has launched a mobile app for mock tests. Now, NEET Applicants can download the mobile app and practice mock tests regularly.
  • The Supreme Court of India has allowed the candidates above 25 years to apply for NEET 2021. Due to this decision, the last date to apply for the examination was extended earlier, in the month of December. 
  • From the Academic Year 2021, the students of open school can also apply for the national level medical examination.
  • The National Testing Agency has released content-based lectures by IIT professors and subject experts for the NEET Aspirants.
  • The foreign students, aspiring to study medicines from medical colleges in India, are required to qualify NEET 2021 examination.
  • NTA established 3 thousand practice centres for the aspirants.
  • The National Testing Agency has ensured that the test centres in rural areas have a proper network so that the students enjoy ample opportunity. 

Changes Introduced Last Year:

  • Last Year, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana joined 15 percent All India Quota Scheme.
  • Aadhar Card will not be mandatory to fill the NEET Application Form.
  • Indian students aspiring to pursue medical studies in a foreign country requires to qualify NEET.
  • The upper age limit to appear for the examination has been removed.
  • The candidates of open school are not eligible to appear for NEET.
