All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts MAT Exam at the national level for admission to MBA and Allied programs offered by various reputed management institutions or business schools across the country. The examination is conducted in two modes namely Computer Based Test (CBT) and Paper Based Test (PBT).
Candidates are free to choose either of the modes as per their convenience. Candidates can also choose to take exam in both the modes.
- Since the exam is conducted four times a year, MAT 2021 will be conducted in the month of February 2021, May 2021, September 2021, and December 2021, but due to coronavirus outbreak across the world resulted into delayed exams.

MAT 2020 December was conducted from 21st November 2020 to 28th December 2020 and the difficulty level of MAT 2020 Exam was considered easy. Since the question paper is divided in five segments and each segment was of different difficulty level.

Highlights of MAT December 2020
- Language Comprehension comprised of 4 Reading Comprehension Passages.
- More of Arithmetic questions were asked in Mathematical Skills section.
- Intelligence & Critical Reasoning section was comparatively easy.
There were total 200 questions divided amongst five sections with 40 questions in each section. All the questions asked in the exam carried equal marks. Each correct answer would be rewarded with +1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 marks would be deducted as penalty.

1. Language Comprehension
Language Comprehension section was considered of moderate difficulty level and students were able to attempt a good number of questions. There were total 40 questions to be attempted in 30 minutes.
These 40 questions were asked from several topics such as error correction, antonyms, synonyms, one-word substitution, etc.

The difficulty level of these 40 questions ranged from moderate to moderately difficulty and the total allotted time of 30 minutes was enough to complete them.
2. Mathematical Skills
This section was considered moderately difficult as there were more questions from Arithmetic section, and it took students more time to solve them. There were total 40 question asked in this section and the total allotted time was 40 minutes which means one minute for each question.

This section was easy to give a shot and the students could easily attempt question without any severe difficulty. There were total 40 questions to be completed in 35 minutes. The questions asked in this section were of two types namely:
- Data Interpretation
- Data Sufficiency and Data Comparison
The questions were particularly based upon Pie Charts, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, and Caselets.

It is clearly visible that Data Interpretation topic covered almost 50% of the questions. The questions were of moderate difficulty level.
4. Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
The section comprised of 40 questions and more of the total questions were from analytical and logical reasoning topics. There were a few questions made from Critical Reasoning topic.
There were different sets formed of question and there were individual questions too. The questions were primarily based on Family Relation, Statements, Cause & Effect, etc.

5. Indian and Global Environment
The questions asked in this section were primarily from various sectors such as Business awareness, Current affairs, Sports, etc. Since there is vast information in such sectors, it is not possible to determine the kind of questions that could be asked in the exam.
Key Points of this section:
- Marks scored by candidates in this section are not counted during the calculation of percentile.
- The difficulty level of this question ranged from easy to moderate.
