LIC AAO 2020

LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) conducts an online examination for the appointment of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO). There are about 590 vacancies. Life Insurance Corporation invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Generalist Assistant Administrative Officer. Candidates are required to apply online. No other mode of application would be accepted. The test also is conducted in an online mode for the applicants.

The LIC AAO job profile involves a lot of administrative work more than having face-to-face interaction with customers in general. The list of functions that the one employed in the function includes but would be beyond:

• Inspection and Analysis of currently trending policies
• Plan of new schemes/policies
• Filing and Management
• Interaction with clients and resolving queries
• Communication across Departments
• Performing duties recommended by officer-in-charge.

LIC AAOs, in general, would not be required to travel a lot. On Travel, they would be required in general to follow up on a lot of assignments. As they would not be required to interact with clients in general, these trips would be usually for the sale of LIC Policies. 

Salary of an LIC AAO would be as follows:

1. Pay Scale of an LIC AAO would be between INR 17K to 25K.
2. Medical Benefits, Group Mediclaim, Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance, and Vehicle Loan would also be available as per issue of rules.
3. Other benefits might also include Defined Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Exam, LTC, Gratuity and Cash.

Training and postings would require a candidate to relocate as this is a transferable job and LIC has numerous branches all over India. LIC has most of its branches in cities and towns alone. The candidate would mostly be placed in a developed/developing area. In terms of location, this is an advantage over Banking Jobs where candidates would be shifted to rural areas as well.

To apply for the examination candidate needs to fulfill LIC AAO Eligibility Criteria which includes a bachelor's degree in any field. The candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years at the time of applying for the examination. Candidate should note that applications of candidates who fail to meet the requirement will be rejected and LIC AAO Admit Card will not be issued to such candidates. 

This year there are changes in LIC AAO Exam Pattern as the conducting authority decided to introduce sectional timing in the question paper along with a minimum required percentage of marks as needed to qualify the examination in all category. Candidates qualifying the examination with required LIC AAO Cutoff will only be allowed to move ahead for next round of selection procedure.

LIC AAO Selection Procedure is again a strenuous process which starts from filling the application form followed by writing the exam. Once the two stages are cleared, successful candidates are called for attending the interview, getting the medical examination, Identity verification, and finally the rank allotment.
