JCECE the yearly exam is being conducted by JCECEB for admission in engineering, medical and agricultural courses offered in the colleges of Jharkhand. JCECE Eligibility Criteria vary depending upon the subject group selected for admission.
The entire eligibility can be divided into 4 categories as mentioned below:
- Residential Criteria
- Reservation Category
- Age Limit
- Educational Qualification
Residential Criteria to Apply for JCECE:
Candidates applying for JCECE must be a local or permanent resident of Jharkhand state and must pose a valid local Residential Certificate issued from proper authorities assigned by Government of Jharkhand.
Reservation:
To avail, the benefits of registered seats of reserved category, local or permanent residing candidate of Jharkhand with valid caste certificate are eligible to apply under the reserved category.
Age Limit to apply for JCECE:
On basis of Course selected the age criteria may vary as mentioned:
B. tech Course: For applying in B.Tech Course there is no age limit for candidates qualifying other criteria.
M.B.B.S Course: The age of the candidates seeking admission in medical courses should not be less than 17 years of age or must reach the required age by 31 December 2022.
Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. and A.H.) Course: Aspirants should not be less than 17 years of age in the applied year or must complete 17 years of age by 31 December 2022.
Agriculture and Forestry Course: Minimum age to apply for the course is 17 years and maximum age is 22 years on July 1st of the examination year. For candidates applying through the reserved category (SC/ST) relaxation of 3 years is given from the board.
Education Qualification to Apply for JCECE:
B.Tech Course: As per the underline guidelines of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and JCECEB, for taking admission in B.Tech course candidate must qualify 10+2 or an equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject taken in combination with either PCM or PCMB. Candidate applying from general category needs 45% minimum aggregate marks, whereas candidate applying from reserved category needs 40% to apply for the course. Candidates in final year of 10+2 are also eligible to apply.
MBBS Course: As per the guidelines of Medical Council of India (MCI) mandated by JCECEB the candidate applying for MBBS course needs to qualify 10+2 with physics, chemistry, biology and English as mandatory subjects. Candidates must have minimum 50 % marks in the last qualifying examination if applied through the general category and for candidates applying through SC and ST category needs 40% to apply. Candidate pursuing 10+2 and will qualify the exam before counselling of JCECE are also eligible.
Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. and A.H.) Course: Candidate qualified or appearing for final exam of 10+2 with Physics, chemistry and biology as main subjects.
Agriculture and Forestry Course: Aspirants qualified 10+2 with physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects with either biology or mathematics as an additional subject are eligible to apply for the course. Candidate in the final year of 10+2 is also eligible.
