The IBPS RRB Selection Procedure has been detailed below across six components. The post wise selection procedure of IBPS RRB has been illustrated below:

Office Multipurpose Assistants - Prelims and Mains Examination

Officers Scale 1 - Prelims, Mains Exam and Interview

Officers Scale 2 and 3 - Online Exam and Interview

Online Registration

  1. Candidates who aspire to appear for IBPS RRB recruitment process should register for the examination first.
  2. The candidates have to apply online mode.
  3. All the candidates successfully fulfilling the requirements of the application procedure can write the prelims examination.

Preliminary Examination

  1. Candidates applying for the post of Officers Scale I and Multipurpose Office Assistants would have to appear for Preliminary Examination.
  2. The Preliminary Examination would be conducted for 80 marks.
  3. There are two sections in the exam - Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude
  4. Candidates for both the posts have to secure minimum cutoff marks to qualify in both the tests.
  5. Candidates if they fulfill the cutoff criteria would qualify for the Mains Examination.

Mains Examination

  1. Candidates qualifying Preliminary Examination as per IBPS RRB 2017, they will appear for the Mains Examination.
  2. The Mains Examination for Officers and Office Assistant both would be conducted for 200 marks.
  3. There would be five sections in the examination - Numerical Ability, Reasoning, General Awareness, Language and Computer Awareness.
  4. Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) would be provisionally allotted on the basis of marks obtained in Mains and vacancies that are reported by RRBs.
  5. Candidates who qualify Mains Examination would be called for an interview.

Single Online Examination

  1. Candidates who apply for Scale II (Generalists and Specialists) and Scale III would appear for an online examination.
  2. The Candidates who get selected would be called for a Common Interview.
  3. The Total marks would be 200.
  4. Every Candidate would have to obtain a minimum score in the Single Examination to be selected for the interview.

Interview

  1. An interview is applicable for the posts of Officers Scale I, II and III.
  2. Candidates qualifying the Mains Exam (Scale I) and Single Level Exam for (Scale II and III) would be called for an interview.
  3. The interview would be coordinated by Nodal Regional Rural Bank in association with NABARD and IBPS also the appropriate authority.
  4. The interview is allotted a total of 100 marks.
  5. The minimum qualifying marks/scores in the interview would not be less than 40% (35%for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) candidates.

Verifying Documents

Provisional allotments in RRB would be dependent on candidates fulfilling the required criteria for RRB and verification of identity. In any case if it stands detected at any stage of the recruitment process that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his consideration in the further stages of the selection procedure shall stand canceled.

Final Allotment

The ratio of CWE and interview would be 80:20 applicable to the officer cadre. A candidate should scored high both in the test as well as the interview to do well and be shortlisted for provisional allotment. On completion of the interview procedure and depending on the candidate's performance, the person would be allotted to RRBs based on merit-cum-preference.
