IIT Delhi will not conduct counseling of GATE. It must be noted that the examination conducting authority will not be conducting the centralized counseling process for GATE candidates. The candidate seeking admission in M. Tech. courses must apply individually to various institutes. However, a centralized counseling is conducted for admissions in IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The candidates who wish to apply for the Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology must apply through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). The candidates seeking admission in IIITs and CFTIs must apply through Centralized Counselling for M. Tech., commonly known as CCMT. The private and state universities will also be conducting their individual counseling.

Facts to know about GATE Counselling:
- The examination conducting authority doesn't conduct any centralized counseling process.
- Admissions in IITs, IISc Bangalore, NITs, IIITs & CFTIs will be conducted on the basis of GATE Score.
- Some of the IITs conduct written test or interview followed by the counseling process.
Admissions in IITs through GATE:
As there is no centralized counseling, the candidate must apply individually. For admission in M. Tech. programmes, the candidate is required to register through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). COAP is a common platform to apply for the Indian Institutes of Technology. The candidates are required to select their preferred institute and course and COAP registration usually commences after the declaration of GATE Result.
Admissions in NITs, IIITs & CFTIs through GATE:
CCMT will be conducting Centralized Counselling for M. Tech. admissions in various institutes of NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. The application forms of CCMT are usually released in the month of April and the candidate is required to fill the course details and choice of institutions while registering for counseling.
Admissions in IISc Bangalore through GATE:
IISc Bangalore conducts admission process on the basis of GATE score obtained by the candidate. The admission process usually commences before the declaration of GATE result. The candidate is required to mention the preferred course and colleges while registering for admission process.
Admissions in State Universities through GATE:
The State Universities will be conducting separate counseling process which commences usually in the month of March. The candidate is required to fill the separate application forms for individual institutes and the selection entirely depends on the respective institute.
