Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a competitive exam conducted by the central government for the recruitment of teachers from class 1 to class 8 in the government schools. The exam is compulsory for the candidates who want to be a government teacher in the schools of the central government. The CTET exam is conducted to fulfill the educational requirements under the Right to Education Act (RTE) and to upgrade the quality of education in the government schools.
Schools Accepting CTET:
- Central Government School like KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.
- Schools under the administrative control of the Union Territories of Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Chandigarh, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and NCT Delhi.
- Unaided Private schools can also consider the score of CTET for the recruitment of teachers.
- States who do not conduct TET can also consider the scores of CTET for the recruitment.
CTET Exam Structure:
CTET Exam Conduction:
- Earlier CTET was conducted twice a year, but now, the CBSE has decided to conduct the CTET exam once a year. The CTET Dates pattern will now be changed in comparison to previous years.
- CTET mode of the exam was offline, i.e., Pen and Paper based but now for the first time, CBSE has decided to change the mode of the exam to online, i.e., computer-based exam.
- Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of CTET exams are conducted on the same day, and the CTET Results are generally announced within the 4 months after the conduction of the exam.
