What is CLAT?
The Consortium of National Law Universities has released an official notification on its official website confirming its revised CLAT 2022 schedule. The eligibility required to take CLAT Exam is to have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate in 12th class exams. This is defined under CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria available on the official website of CNLU. As CLAT 2022 is going to be conducted after a month, so candidates are under pressure of performing well but they still have enough time to solve CLAT Previous Year Question Papers to be able to increase their efficiency of solving the paper. This will also help them get a better understanding of CLAT Exam Pattern, CLAT Syllabus and the difficulty level of the exam.

What is CLAT Exam?
The Common Law Admission Test which is widely known as CLAT exam is a national level online entrance examination for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by 22 law institutions across the country. The exam is conducted by the consortium of National Law Universities. Not only the National Law University but also various private and self-financed law institutes and colleges in India accept CLAT Score in order to shortlist candidates for admission.

- Exam will be conducted in offline mode i.e. Pen and Paper based format.
- Total No. of questions in UG and PG exam will be 150 and 120 respectively.

CLAT 2022 Registration
The NLU Consortium began CLAT 2022 Registration Procedure on 1st January 2022 and the last date to fill the application form has been extended till 9th May 2022. The CLAT Application Form has been made available through online mode and students interested in taking the exam can fill the application form by following the link given here. To register for the exam, candidates must possess a valid email id and a phone number. While registering for the exam, candidates must fill the various fields such as Name, DOB, Upload Documents, Educational Details, etc. They must also select Exam Center and process the payment of application fee while filling the form.

How to Apply for CLAT 2022 Exam?
Registration – Interested candidates will have to register by providing their personal and academic details. Besides, they must select and confirm a password for their newly created account.
Login – After the registration process is completed, candidates must log in to access their application form.
Select the Program – After logging in, choose the program you wish to take this exam for i.e. 5-year LLB or 1-year LLB.
Fill the Application Form – There are various fields in the exam form such as personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam center preferences (THREE centers can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation.
Submit the Form – Once these exam details are completely filled, candidates must agree to the declaration and give their consent. After all this is done, candidates must submit the form.
Payment of Application Fee - This is the last step to fill CLAT 2022 Application Form. The payment of CLAT Application Fee must be done through online mode i.e. credit card, debit card or net banking. In addition to the exam fee, candidates will also be required to pay an additional amount of INR 500 if they wish to opt for previous years' question papers.

CLAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria
As per the CLAT 2022 Eligibility defined by the Consortium of National Law Universities, the candidates with at least 45% marks in aggregate in their last qualifying examination will be considered eligible to take the national level entrance examination. Besides, 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks will be gives to candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

CLAT 2022 Merit List
Based on the results of the entrance exam, the exam officials will create and release the CLAT 2022 merit list. The CLAT merit list 2022 places candidates in order of their test scores. The tiebreaker, however, is employed to determine the merit rank when two or more candidates receive the same ranks.
CLAT Merit List 2022 - Tie-breaking procedure
- The candidate with the highest score in the "Legal Aptitude" segment of CLAT 2022 will be put higher in the merit list.
- If this step is taken, the candidate who is older will receive a higher rank.
- If there is still a tie, the merit rank of these applicants will be established by a computerized draw of lots.
CLAT Counseling
Below mentioned are the steps to register for CLAT Counseling after qualifying CLAT Exam.
Step 1 – Visit the official website and check the merit list of shortlisted candidates.
Step 2 – Enter your preferences for NLU and choose up to 6 NLU.
Step 3 – Process the payment of prescribed application fee online at the portal.
After the completion, seat allotment results will be announced by the concerned authority and after it, all the shortlisted candidates will be advised to confirm their seat for admission to their desired colleges. Shortlisted candidates will have 3 options:
- Accept or Lock the seat
- After accepting/locking the seat, upload the required documents to proceed further.
- Process the payment of admission fee to the allotted college.
- Submit all the important documents and process the requisite amount to the NLU.
- Exit admission process.
