The CAT cut off is the minimum score or percentile a test taker must achieve to advance to the next exam round. The CAT percentile is taken into account by several management institutes throughout India while selecting applicants for admission. The IIMs have established themselves as India's top institutions for management and research education.
The Indian Institutes of Management, or IIMs, will publish their unique CAT cut-offs for 2022 after the release of the CAT result in order to shortlist applicants for the WAT, GD, and PI admission procedures that follow. The CAT cutoff is the minimal percentile needed to be chosen for the admissions process. The results of the CAT 2022 test will likely be made public by the organization in charge of administering it around the second week of January 2023. A score will be released as the result.
CAT Cut Off 2022
- The percentage a candidate must obtain to pass each IIM's cut off will vary because each IIM has a distinct cut off.
- Students who scored between 99 and 100 percentile will be contacted by prestigious IIMs like the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Mumbai, etc.
- A few non-IIMs that demand a +99 percentile include ISB Hyderabad, DMS (IIT D), FMS Delhi University, IIT Bombay, and others.
- The CAT cut off for the top IIMs is therefore thought to be between 99 and 100 percentile, notably for the general category.
- The cutoff for CAT-taking MBA applicants in the reserved category may be much lower at the 97 to 98 percentile.
- Each of the 20 IIMs will announce the minimum CAT cut off for 2022 in accordance with their admissions criteria in order to screen candidates for the following selection procedures.
- Aspirants can presently study the CAT cut off from the previous year to gain an idea because the IIMs won't release the CAT 2022 cut off till after the CAT 2022 result.
CAT Cut Off 2022 - Highlights
The ultimate CAT cut off for 2022 would be at least a 90% for admission into any IIM or top MBA institutions in India. The CAT cut offs for prestigious IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Kozhikode are still high (99+ percentile). The CAT cut offs are frequently set at the 60 percentile and above in Tier 3 institutions and at the 80 percentile and higher in Tier 2 colleges. The cut offs for CAT 2022 are expected to be in the same range for these colleges.
When the CAT Results are announced, the candidates willing to take admission in top MBA colleges must go through their Cut Off Trends

- The cut offs for the CAT exam for students in the reserved category are slightly lower, ranging from 95 to 98 percentile.
- Admission requirements for the premier MBA programs, including those at FMS, MDI, and SPJIMR, vary from 95 to 99.
- The IIMs do not make the CAT cut offs public. Only candidates who take the CAT exam are able to see the cutoffs via account login.
- For IIM admission, there are two separate CAT cutoffs: the qualifying cut off and the final cut off.
- The qualifying cut off is established before to the release of the CAT results, and the final cut off is established during the PI shortlisting process.

IIM Admission and Selection Criteria for CAT
- If a candidate meets the minimal requirements of the IIMs they selected in their CAT application, they must apply for WAT/GD-PI once the CAT 2022 results are out.
- Candidates are first evaluated based on their CAT results, then go through rounds of WAT/GD-PI, and finally are selected. Most IIMs will run WAT, GD, and PI rounds from February to April 2023; successful candidates will get "offer of admission" letters in May 2023.
- When a candidate is invited to the WAT/GD-PI round, they must bring the following documentation:
- Original and photocopied mark sheets with a self-attestation for grades 10, 12, and graduation.
- Original and self-attested photocopies of the caste, class, and disability certificates in the case of SC, ST, NC-OBC, and PwD applicants.
- The principal, registrar, or director of the university or institution must sign an original certificate attesting to the candidate's attainment of a minimum aggregate score of 50% or equivalent (45% for candidates who fall under the SC, ST, or PwD categories) based on the candidate's most recent grades or marks if the candidate is taking the final-year bachelor's degree exam or an equivalent exam.
