BITSAT Examination started off on May 16 at 9 am for admission to the BE Programs at the three campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad respectively. The entrance examinations are scheduled in two slots per day - 9 to 12 am and 2-5 pm all over 59 examination centers in the country. The tests are completely online and candidates were given the facility to book their slots and centers as per their convenience. 

Overall as per student opinion, the BITSAT Examination was moderate to attempt. Candidates had opined that students who had taken coaching would do well in comparison to those who did not, since some questions can be solved quickly with the help of tips and tricks that they learned in the course of coaching.

Physics

Chemistry

  • Electro-Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry

Physics was noted to be one of the toughest sections in comparison to the others. Chemistry had a lot of analytical questions. Physics and Chemistry had a lot of questions from Grade 11 and 12.  

A topic wise distribution and analysis of BITSAT are given as below:

  1. Physics Section is balanced. There were 19 questions from Grade 11 and 21 Questions from Grade 12. The focus of the examination for this year for the Physics section was, in particular, Grade 12. 
  2. Chemistry Section had 17 questions from Grade 11 Syllabi and 23 questions from Grade 12 Syllabus. Topics were mostly from organic chemistry and General Chemistry.
  3. Mathematics Section was highly imbalanced considering the weight of topics from Grade 11 and 12. 25 questions were from Grade 11 and 15 questions from Grade 12 syllabus. 

A total of 450 marks detailed on the basis of the scale of difficulty are as follows:

  • Questions worth 108 marks were easy.
  • Questions worth 165 marks were moderate.
  • Remaining 102 marks were from a difficult section. 
  • The paper was slightly easier in comparison to the previous year, the cut off is expected to be slightly high from the last year in all the categories.
