AIIMS Eligibility Criteria has been mentioned across three categories such as Age, Academic Qualification and Marks scored by the candidates. The AIIMS Exam can be given by fulfilling the eligibility criteria and the requisite application procedure.

All the Grade 12 students with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as their core subjects in the Grade 12 examination, are eligible to apply for AIIMS Medical Entrance examination. A candidate must be a minimum of 17 years of age to apply for AIIMS MBBS. The other essential eligibility criteria have been discussed below:
- Minimum of 60% for General and OBC and 50% for SC/ST.
- In the case of students applying for a qualifying exam, they can apply for AIIMS. A documentary evidence of passing qualifying exam with the relevant score is required.
- In the case of the Institute considering an examination of an Indian University /Foreign university equivalent to Grade 12 under 10+2 scheme, the candidate has to produce a certificate that they have passed the exam.
- Foreign nationals interested in AIIMS New Delhi need to have obtained 50%in aggregates in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
- Foreign candidates nominated by the Government of India do NOT have to appear for the entrance exam.
A candidate is required to score minimum aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Grade 12. The category-wise marks are as given below.
- General and OBC - 60%
- SC/ST - 50%
Candidates should go through the AIIMS Eligibility Criteria carefully prior to applying for AIIMS Examination. The AIIMS Eligibility Criteria details the minimum requirements that would be required to be fulfilled by the candidate in order to be able to apply for AIIMS Examination. The AIIMS MBBS 2019 Examination is slated to be conducted on May 25 and 26, 2019.
Overseas Citizen of India:
Overseas Citizen of India registered under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955 would be eligible to appear in this test and all terms and conditions applicable for Indian nationals given in the prospectus shall be made applicable to them. The candidate would be required to submit proof of registration evidencing OCI under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955, to be eligible to appear for this test. They are eligible to apply for all AIIMS Campuses.
Foreign Nationals:
Foreign candidates nominated by the Indian Government should have obtained minimum marks of 50% in subjects such as English, Chemistry, Physics, Science, and Biology in their intermediate or equivalent to be eligible for AIIMS Examination. The candidates can apply to AIIMS New Delhi, only.
AIIMS Qualification criteria are explained in detail as follows:
Qualifying examination:
- Candidates should pass the Grade 12 / Higher Secondary Education/ Senior School Certificate Education/ Intermediate Science or equivalent from a recognized Board/University/State.
- Subjects: It has been necessary to pass the qualifying examination with English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry components of the examination.
Minimum Marks:
- The minimum aggregate marks that the candidates should obtain to appear in the exam is set at 60% for OBC and General while it is 50% for SC/ST/OPH Candidates.
- Candidates appearing or who have appeared in their 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply. Candidates would have to pass the examination with the required marks in the entrance examination. The candidates would be considered for admission only once they produce the required proof.
- AIIMS Examination would be providing admission to AIIMS New Delhi, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Raipur, Bhopal, Guntur, Nagpur, Rishikesh and Jodhpur.
