National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai Admission
National Institute of Industrial Engineering, mostly referred to as NITIE, has a certain procedure that needs to be followed for taking admission to different NITIE courses. It is one of the top management institutes and it offers a number of management programs at postgraduate level namely PGDIM, PGDISEM, PGDIE, PGDMM, and PGDPM. Admission procedure to each program is different from one another.
- For admission to PGDIM/PGDISEM, the candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology and have qualified CAT examination with a valid score followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds
- For admission to PGDIE/PGDMM/PGDPM, the candidates are required to hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology and have qualified GATE examination with a valid score followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds
- For admission to Fellow programs, the candidates must hold a Master's degree securing at least 60% marks in aggregate
Admission to PGDIM and PGDISEM
Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management are the programs offered by the NITIE at postgraduate level. The programs are offered to make students proficient in their respective fields.
- The candidates seeking admission are required to have a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology securing at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university
- They must qualify the Common Admission Test conducted by IIM and have a valid score in CAT examination after which they are shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds
- Sponsored candidates are allowed to have 15% seats reserved for them. They do not have to have a valid score of GATE examination, though they are required to have appeared and qualified written entrance examination conducted by the NITIE
Application Procedure
- Candidates seeking admission must fill the online application form in order to be eligible.
- They must register themselves by visiting the official website of NITIE
- They must fill the application form with correct details, any incorrect detail may lead to cancellation of the candidature
- Details like Personal information, Educational qualification, work experience etc. must be filled correctly
- After the form is filled, they must process the payment of INR 1000 (INR 500 for reserved categories) as application fee
- They must take the print out of application form and payment receipt

The institute offers Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management and Project Management programs at postgraduate level.
- Candidates seeking admission must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology securing at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university and must have qualified GATE examination with a valid score
- 5% marks relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories
- Based on their performance in GATE examination, the candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds
- 5% marks relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories while applying for PGDIE, PGDMM, and PGDPM
- Candidates who have a valid score of GATE examination are shortlisted for GD and PI
- While filling the application form, the candidates must process the payment of INR 1000 (INR 500 for reserved categories) as application fee

Admission to Fellowship Programs
- The institute offers a fellowship program in Industrial Training for the duration of four years. The candidates seeking admission must possess a Master's degree in Engineering or Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, and pure sciences securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
- First of all, the candidates are shortlisted based on the evaluation Research Proposal invited during the application stage. Then they are called for entrance examination conducted by the NITIE followed by research presentation and personal interview. Finally, the merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination.
- 5% marks relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
- The application fee of INR 1000 (INR 500 for the reserved categories) is to be processed while filling the application form.
