Jnanadabhiram Barooah Law College, often known as J.B Law College (JBLC), was founded in 1969 in Guwahati, Assam’s main city. The college is associated with Gauhati University, the Bar Council of India, and the University Grants Commission in New Delhi. The college provides Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the field of law. JB Law College provides a variety of courses in the subject of Legal Studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The institution conducts a merit and entrance test followed by an interview to select students for BA.LLB and LLB programs. Candidates for LLM admission must take a Statutory Written Admission Test in Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Indian Penal Code, and Current Legal Issues. To seek admission in LLB or LLM students need to fill an online admission form made available on college website. Along with filling the form they need to make a payment of Rs. 600 which is non-refundable. Last date for submission of forms is given on the website. Once these steps are completed, students are called for an interview and are asked to give a viva test based on linguistic ability, general knowledge and aptitude.
Admission to JB Law College in 2023
The college offers a BA.LLB curriculum with a five-year time span. In addition, the college offers a three-year undergraduate degree program called the Bachelor of Law (LLB). Admission to both undergraduate level courses is done through a merit-based admission test and an on-the-spot interview. The performance of the candidates in the entrance exam and interview determines their selection in that particular course. The college manages the whole admissions process. The college considers a 5% mark relaxation exclusively applicable to Assam residents who fall into the SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories.

Steps to Apply for Admission to College
The admission process to the college is conducted in an online mode. Interested candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the college must register themselves. Below mentioned are the steps that one must follow for admission:
Step 1 – Visit the website of CollegeSearch i.e. https://www.collegesearch.in/.
Step 2 – Click on ‘Colleges’ and type the college’s name in the search bar.
Step 3 – The college profile appears after clicking on ‘JB Law College’.
Step 4 – Navigate to and click on the ‘Request to Apply’ tab available on the top left of the page.
Step 5 – It will redirect you to the page where the registration procedure takes place.
Step 6 – Enter your details such as Name, Mobile no, Email id, and the course you would want to apply for. Along with filling out the form student will need to make a payment of Rs. 600 which is non-refundable
Step 7 – The registration process is complete, and a new page of suggested colleges appears where you can apply for any other college you might be interested in.
