About IIT Bhilai

The Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is located in Raipur. The institute was founded in late 2016 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). IIT Bhilai is one of the fastest growing among the other IIT colleges in India, providing 20 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs in Engineering, Science, and Liberal Arts. The IIT Bhilai campus is spread across an area of 447 acres, occupying more than 700 students and faculty collectively. The NIRF has ranked IIT Bhilai as 81 in the engineering category.

IIT Bhilai has had multiple collaborations with both public and private organizations that were involved in both engineering and technology, which are the Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority, CDAC Pune, as well as the Bhilai Steel Plant. Apart from this, in the IIT Bhilai Placements 2023, the institute had a placement rate of almost 100% for M.Tech students in CSE, EE, and DSAI of IIT Bhilai.

IIT Bhilai Courses

IIT Bhilai offers multiple UG, PG, and doctoral-level programs under IIT Bhilai Courses in the fields of Engineering, Science, and Arts. At the UG level. IIT Bhilai is offering a full-time four-year B.Tech program as well as the flagship program of IIT Bhilai. At the PG level, IIT Bhilai will be offering a full-time two-year M.Tech program across eleven specializations and full-time MSc programs.

IIT Bhilai also provides Ph.D. programs in specializations namely Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering (BSBME), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (MSME), Chemistry (CY), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) and many other disciplines. 

To get admission to the B.Tech programs of IIT Bhilai, all the students are needed to appear for the JEE-Main and later for the JEE-Advanced exam which is by filling out the application form through the NTA official website. All the candidates selected based on their JEE-Advanced score will be selected for the IIT Bhilai counseling process.

All the students who are seeking admission to the M.Tech program need to appear for the GATE exam or score 8.0 CGPA/ CPI in BTech if passed through an IIT. Also, the candidates need to register themselves via the COAP’s official website before getting to the application process for IIT Bhilai M.Tech programs.

IIT Bhilai goes through the process of selecting the students for the M.Sc programs based on valid scores in IIT-JAM. So all the students need to appear for the JAM exam by completing the application form.
