GIT also referred to as the Gandhinagar Institute of Technology, is a privately owned engineering college. The foundation of Gandhinagar Institute of Technology was laid by the Platinum Foundation Trust in the year of 2006. The college is situated near the Moti Bhoyan village and is 24 km away from Ahmedabad. The institute has received its affiliation from Gandhinagar University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Moreover, it is recognized by the UGC. 

It provides the students with a number of postgraduate and undergraduate courses to choose from in both management and engineering. Some of the engineering programs offered by GIT are: BE in Information Technology, BE in Computer Engineering, BE in Civil Engineering, BE in Electrical Engineering, BE in Mechanical Engineering, BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering and BE in Information Technology. It also offers Master of Engineering (ME) programs. These programs are ME in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Software Engineering, ME in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal Engineering and CAD/CAM. 

As per the rankings of the Gujarat State Institutional Ranking Framework (GSIRF) 2023, GIT got a 4-star rating. The college went on to win the tag of Prominent University for Futuristic Education by Divya Bhaskar in 2023. Education World Gran Jury India Higher Education Rankings awarded with ‘Extraordinary Leadership’ in 2023. 

The college is known for providing its students with high-placement packages. The top recruiters are TCS, ICICI Bank etc.

GIT offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different disciplines such as MBA, Management, Engineering, Commerce etc. It offers BE in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering etc. and ME in Computer Engineering and Thermal Engineering.
