Daulat Ram College, Delhi

Daulat Ram College commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1960. The college was initiated by an educationist Shri Daulat Ram Gupta. The college is affiliated to the Delhi University and is one of the leading colleges of the university. Daulat Ram College is a premier college for women involved in imparting education to women. The college was previously known as Pramila College and in the year 1964, it was renamed as Daulat Ram College. The college has been striving hard to hold a leading position both in academics and co-curricular activities.

These co-curricular activities include dramatics, music, debates, and sports. The concerned authority of the college has formed several societies as well. Societies like NSS and NCC have been formed to help the students cope with the new environment they have been introduced to.

RECOGNITION AND ACCREDITATION

Daulat Ram College has been recognized by the University Grants Commission and accredited with grade ‘A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

FEATURES OF DAULAT RAM COLLEGE

The infrastructure of the college is spread over an area of 13 acres of land. The college offers all the primary and basic facilities to its students. These facilities include Library, Laboratories, Computer labs, Seminar Rooms, Amphitheatre (Rangshala), College Auditorium (Sadbhavna Bhawan), Cafeteria, Placement Cell, Hostel, Bank, Medical Aid, etc.

• LABORATORIES

The laboratories of Daulat Ram College are well developed and designed in such a way that it fulfills the requirements of its students. Well managed laboratories for all the Science courses namely Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, and Zoology are offered. There have been separate labs for other departments such as Departments of Nutrition & Health Education, Mathematics, and Psychology.

• COMPUTER LABS

It is one of the most important features of Daulat Ram College. It has been equipped with Pentium machines with the latest configuration. These well-equipped computer labs have connectivity with the Delhi University intranet. This allows them to access the internet anywhere and anytime. Talking about the number of systems installed, the main computer lab has 38 computers and an additional computer lab has 2 computers.

• SEMINAR ROOM

The seminar room serves to be a platform where several activities get conducted. These multifarious activities may include seminars, lectures, debates, discussions, and workshops.

• LIBRARY

The college provides Library and Reading rooms facilities. These facilities are to be used by the staff and students only. The library consists of an excellent stack of books along with journals and periodicals. There are three sections from which the books can be issued namely General Section, Reserved Section, and Reference Section.

Daulat Ram College Courses offer various programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Some of the courses are offered under various specializations that give students a pool of options to choose from.  Admission procedure to these courses varies from one another. The college accepts the online mode of application.
