Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC) is established in year 2002. There are 4 undergraduate (B. Tech) and 7 Post Graduation (M. Tech) courses in this institute with a 1260 intake capacity. Institute is AICTE approved and affiliated to PTU. Institute Land is more than 12 Acre. The total built up area is 37665.35 sqm. All modern facilities are available in the campus. This institute has acquired accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) established by AICTE. In its maiden attempt, CEC has acquired the coveted distinction of being the first private engineering college in the northern region to have got accredited for 5 years. It now stands enlisted among the top 25 private colleges and the top 50 accredited institutes of the country. CEC has received many positions in different national level surveys conducted by magazines of national repute year by year. In 2012 CEC achieved 14th position in AICTE-CII Industry Institute Interaction nationwide survey. In 2013 CEC has been nominated for AICTE-CII Industry Institute Interaction Award for Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology department. Only private institute in Punjab to receive a 4 Crore TEQIP-II World Bank grants. CEC has received many grants from AICTE under quality improvement programme. Students of CEC achieved many awards in different national & international level competitions conducted by IITs Industries. Campus placement is a religious activity here; lots of students are placed in national and multinational companies every year. Expert lecture by top professors from institute of National importance and top industries are conducted here regularly. CEC is proud enough to have state of art lab for Innovation center, E-governance center and one I-Spark Lab by Microsoft. Innovation center is exclusively an automobile R&D lab with three patent applications. Highly experienced faculties are working in CEC. PTU has given CEC the status of a centre of excellence for different sports. First year transition rate of students is very high. Students have secured very good percentage in PTU examination and have been obtaining good ranks in every year in different branch.
