The institute was set up as a centre for technical and scientific education by Late Dr. Bahadur Singh who was an educationist and reformist. The institute is recognized by the All-India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is affiliated with Ranchi University. Cambridge Trust of India runs and manages the institution which is a registered body under Indian Trust Act. Cambridge Institute of Technology Admission
Admission in the Cambridge Institute of Technology is based on entrance and merit. Students can obtain the application form from the college's website. Students who qualify JCECEB entrance conducted by Jharkhand Government for various engineering colleges are eligible to seek admission in B. Tech courses. Other than that JEE mains is another gateway to get admission and then the remaining seats are filled by students on marks obtained in 10+2. These students can directly fill the application form in the institute and later their selection can be confirmed based on merit by the admission department.

Candidates need to download the application form from the college website.

Candidates will have to fill in the basic details like the course they are applying for, session, candidate's name, father's name, address, contact number, place of birth, nationality, date of birth, etc.

Students who have qualified GATE/ JCECEB/ JEE mains will also have to do the same procedure along with attaching proof of qualifying exams with other necessary documents.

For applying in different courses, a candidate will have to fill different forms. One form will be applicable for one course.

Once done with the above procedures, candidates will need to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,050. The payment can be made online and offline, online payment can be done either through debit card, credit card or net banking.

For paying the registration fee offline, candidates will have to make a demand draft of Rs 1,050 and enclose it along with a filled and printed registration form.

Cambridge Institute of Technology Placements
The college understands the importance of a placement cell in training students and helping them out to get the most suitable placement. Hence, they strive to make the students employable and skillable to get their desired job. The process of placement begins from August or September in the college every year for the final year students. In order to sit in the placement, students need to register themselves in the training and placement department. They also need to attend the pre placement talks of the particular company they are applying for. Students who do not register in training and placement are not eligible to sit for the placement.
