The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) conducts the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations for students in Class 12th in Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra HSC Board exams are expected to take place between 21st February to 19th March, 2024. The exams are conducted in offline mode. To clear the Class 12th Board exams, students are required to get at least get 35% marks in each subject. Each subject has a total of 100 marks. The theory paper is worth 80 marks and the internal assessment have a weightage of 20 marks. While on the other hand, the subjects which also have practical, have a different marking scheme. In those exams, the theory paper is of 70 marks and the internal assessment/practical are of 30 marks.
Candidates are required to opt for five compulsory subjects which includes English and four other compulsory subjects . Students have the option of selecting a sixth additional subject. As a result, it is seen that the total marks for Maharashtra state board 12th exams are 500 or 600, depending on the number of subjects the student has opted for.

Maharashtra HSC Board Exam Pattern 2024
Last year, the Maharashtra Board announced some big changes in the exam pattern of the Board exams. This year, the exams will be conducted, following the changes that were made last year. The major changes are as follows:
All subjects that the students have in class 12th, will have an internal assessment of 20 marks. These 20 points will be allocated as follows: 5 points for grasping skills, 5 points for speaking abilities, and 10 points for the appropriate subject-related activity/experiment.
According to the current assessment scheme, the Maharashtra Board will add 25% MCQ questions in the Board exams.
Like previous year, the Maharashtra Board also decreased the overall score for the HSC exam. The total score will be 600 rather than 650.
