CBSE Class 10th Exam Pattern

Students appearing for Class 10 board exams must go through the CBSE Class 10 exam pattern as it gives you an idea of the marking scheme, duration of the exam, types of questions asked in the exam, chapter wise weightage of marks etc. Last year the board increased the number of MCQs and reduced the number of long and short type questions. This is going to be the same this year too.

Each subject has a different paper pattern and marking scheme. Some subjects have practicals while others have only theory papers. Having the CBSE 10th exam pattern will help you plan your CBSE exam preparation better.

Every year the CBSE board reviews the exam pattern and CBSE 10th syllabus before releasing the final pattern online. The CBSE Class 10th exam pattern also consists of the division of types of questions and their marks. This CBSE 10th exam pattern is followed by the board to create the question paper.

The CBSE 10th paper covers the whole syllabus of theory subjects while the internal assessment segment consists of periodical tests, notebook submission and subject enrichment activities. As per CBSE passing criteria, students must score a minimum of 33% marks in both - theory and practical to pass the papers.
