QS World University Rankings 2024 Overview

QS World University Ranking 2024 was released on June 28, 2023. IIT Bombay bagged the 149th rank and emerged as one of the Top Indian Institutes. 

For the 12th consecutive year, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has claimed the 1st position in the rankings. The University of Cambridge has successfully maintained its second place, while the University of Oxford has surpassed Stanford University to secure the third position. 

What is QS World University Rankings?

The global higher education analyst specialist, Quacquarelli Symonds, administers the QS World University Rankings. These rankings meticulously evaluate 1,500 institutions spanning across 104 locations. They derive valuable insights from a vast collection of 17.5 million academic papers, as well as input from 240,000 academic faculty members and employers.

QS World University Rankings 2024

In the QS World University Rankings 2024, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Madras are prominent Indian Institutes that secured the top spots.

In contrast to the previous year, IISc Bangalore has experienced a decline in its ranking and now holds the 225th position this year. However, several IITs have successfully secured spots within the top 300 universities. Additionally, DU, JNU, and BHU are other esteemed universities that have achieved rankings in the QS World University Rankings.

GGSIPU and the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata have also obtained positions in the QS World University Rankings, with ranks surpassing 1400.
