The National Institutional Ranking Framework has released NIRF 2022 Ranking on its official website i.e. nirfindia.org. There are 11 categories in which the Ministry of Education has released NIRF Ranking 2022 and these categories are Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, and Architecture.
As per the recently released NIRF 2022 Ranking, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has managed to retain the top position in the research category. IIT Madras which topped the list in 2021 and even now it has maintained to secure its top position for the 7th year in a row. IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay have secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The education minister Dharmendra Pradhan released NIRF Ranking 2022 at a virtual event on nirfindia.org. There were total 11 categories under which the Indian Universities were ranked. Last year, NIRF introduced a new category namely Research Institutions. The total number of institutions that participated in NIRF 2022 Ranking was 7,254 which was on 6,272 last year.
