NEET Preparation: Exam on May 5, Know the NEET Exam Pattern

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, commonly known as NEET is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2019 by the newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA). The online application process for NEET 2019 has already commenced on the official website of NTA and the aspiring candidates must apply for the examination before November 30, 2018.

Earlier NEET was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). As NTA will be conducting NEET for the first time there are numerous queries regarding the exam pattern that NTA would be following. According to the information provided by the official website, following are the details of NEET 2019 Exam Pattern.

NEET Exam Pattern 2019:

  • NEET 2019 Question paper will be carrying three sections I.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology)
  • There will be total number of 180 objective type questions with four options each based on the above-mentioned subjects
  • The time duration of the examination will be three hours that means the examination will be conducted from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on May 5, 2019
  • Physics and Chemistry section will be carrying 45 questions each whereas there will be 90 questions in Biology section
  • The candidate will be awarded with additional 4 mark for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer
  • NEET 2019 will be conducted for 720 marks

NEET 2019 Question paper:

The NEET aspirants can opt for question paper in anyone of the following languages:

  • English
  • Hindi
  • Bengali
  • Gujarati
  • Kannada
  • Marathi
  • Odia
  • Tamil
  • Urdu

The candidates opting for regional language will also be provided with question in English language within the booklet

In case of any ambiguity in the regional language question paper, the English version of the question will be considered as final

  • English & Hindi: All NEET test centres across the country
  • English & Assamese: Test centres in Assam
  • English & Bengali: Test centres in Bengal and Tripura
  • English & Gujarati: Test centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadar & Nagar Haveli
  • English & Kannada: Test centres in Karnataka
  • English & Marathi: Test centres in Maharashtra
  • English & Odia: Test centres in Odisha
  • English & Tamil: Test centres in Tamil Nadu
  • English & Urdu: All NEET test centres across the country
