NDA Salary 2024
NDA salary is determined by the 7th pay commission in pay matrix level 10. Candidates selected through the NDA exam receive a fixed stipend of Rs 56,100 during the 3-year training period in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Upon completing the training period, NDA officers will receive various allowances, i.e. dearness allowances, uniform allowances, transport allowances, etc. The maximum NDA salary per month is Rs 2,50,000 for the rank of Chief of Army Staff (COAS). NDA Salary Training Period
Aspiring officers in NDA training receive benefits and a base salary. They become commissioned officers after completing the 3-year program. During training, they receive a stipend instead of full officer’s pay.
Stipend details for cadets during training at Service Academies, such as the Indian Military Academy (IMA), are in this table. The stipend is Rs 56,100 per month, which is the starting pay in Level 10. The Army, Air Force, and Navy have different rank structures. The NDA Salary Structure 2024 comprises various details, i.e. basic pay, grade pay, allowances, deductions, gross salary, net salary, etc. Here is the NDA salary structure shared below for the reference of the candidates.
NDA Salary After 7th Pay Commission
The NDA salary ranges from ₹56,100 to ₹2,50,000 or more depending on the above factors. The NDA Officer salary for UPSC NDA Officers differs for the ranks in the three defence wings:
- Army
- Navy
- Air Force
For example, a Lieutenant's basic salary differs from that of a Captain or Major. Allowances such as dearness allowance, transportation allowance, and house rent allowance also contribute to total salary.
NDA Salary: Allowances & Perks
Along with NDA salary, candidates are also entitled to various allowances and benefits. Allowances offered to candidates are given below:
Flying Allowance:
The Army Aviators (Pilots) serving in the Army Aviation Corps are entitled to a flying allowance at Rs 25,000/- p.m.
Field Area Allowances:
Depending upon rank and area of posting, officers posted to Field Areas will be eligible for the following Field Area allowances.
High Altitude Allowance:
- Siachen Allowance: Candidates posted to Siachen are entitled to a Siachen Allowance of Rs 42,500/- per month.
- Other: NDA officers posted to high-altitude regions are benefited from the following allowances.
Counter Insurgency Allowance:
Depending upon the type of area of posting, the officer posted will be eligible for the following Counter Insurgency Allowance.
Transport Allowance (TPTA):
Higher TPTA Cities (UA) are Patna, Lucknow, Kolkata, Delhi, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Surat, Kochi, Bengaluru, Kozhikode, Indore, Nagpur, Pune, Greater Mumbai, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Ghaziabad, Chennai. The TPTA allowance is admissible to those service personnel of NDA who have been provided with the facility of Government transport.

Monetary Support In Case of Death or Disablement
The UPSC will release the 2024 structure in case of death or disablement soon. Here are the 2023 figures. The following monetary benefits are available to the Cadets (Direct)/NoKs in the event of invaliding on medical grounds/death of a Cadet (Direct) due to causes attributable to or aggravated by military training:
NDA Salary 2024 Insurance Policies
- Army Group Insurance Fund offers insurance cover of Rs.15 lakh on payment of a time non-refundable premium of Rs. 7,200/- (subject to revision from time to time) by cadets from the date of joining for pre-commission training, i.e. for 3 years.
- If a cadet is relegated, an additional premium of Rs. 1,355/- (subject to revision from time to time) per relegated term will be paid.
- For those who are invalidated by IMB on account of disability and will not get any pension, Rs. 15 lakhs will be provided for 100 percent disability. This will be proportionately reduced to Rs 3 lakhs for 20 percent disability.
- The Lady/Gentlemen Cadets during pre-commission when receiving a stipend are insured for Rs. One Cr as applicable to officers of the regular Army.
