National Scholarship Portal 2022-23 Overview
The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) 2022 is a digital scholarship portal that offers a variety of scholarships from the federal government, state governments, and various government bodies such as the UGC (University Grants Commission). The NSP houses around 104 scholarship programs worth hundreds of crores for scholarship aspirants who have enrolled on the portal. According to authorities, the platform has so far assisted the government in the implementation and disbursement of scholarships totaling more than INR 2,700 crores. More than 127 lakh applications have been submitted to the portal, with over 84 lakh applications having been validated.
What is the National Scholarship Portal?
The NSP, introduced as the Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), emerged as one of the most famous scholarship portals, offering a variety of services spanning from student scholarship application through scholarship disbursement. How to apply for a National Scholarship Portal
One must first register on NSP via student login. Prior to applying for a scholarship, applicants must ensure that their present educational institution is listed on the site. The student would be unable to apply for a scholarship if the institution is not registered on the site. Below is a step-by-step guide to applying for an NSP scholarship via the national scholarship site-
Step 1: Locating the Institute
- Go to the portal's home page.
- Select the 'Search for Institute' option.
- Fill out the form to obtain the list of institutions.
- If the institution is not yet registered on the site, candidates can request that it do so by clicking here.
Step 2: Sign up for the National Scholarship Portal
- To register, all new users must go to the National Scholarship Portal's Home Page.
- Select 'New Registration.'
- The page Guidelines for Registration on NSP will be shown.
- Examine the recommendations thoroughly.
- To proceed, click 'Continue.'
- Fill in all of the needed information.
- Click the 'Register' button.
- On the registered cellphone number, a candidate will receive a student application ID and password.
Step 3: Accessing the National Scholarship Portal
- To begin the scholarship application, click the login button.
- Enter the application ID and password that were sent to the registered phone number.
Step 4: Modify the password (A mandatory step)
- One will receive an OTP on a registered cellphone number once they successfully log in.
- Check the OTP.
- The candidate will be sent to the password-changing page.
- Continue by changing the password.
Step 5: Navigate to the Dashboard
- After changing the password, one will be brought to the Applicant's Dashboard Page.
- To begin the application, select 'Application Form.'
- Fill out all registration information, academic information, and basic information.
- Select 'Save & Continue.
- Add contact information, scheme details, and any required documentation.
- Select 'Save as Draft.' (To ensure that one has typed the proper information).
- Once the candidate confirmed everything, click the Final Submit button.
NOTE:- Please keep in mind that applications that have been submitted cannot be modified again. As a result, applicants are encouraged to be doubly certain before clicking on "Final Submit," as no changes to information will be accepted after final submission.
National Scholarship Portal required Documents
Students must provide specific papers to complete the application procedure while applying for a scholarship on NSP. Students do not need to provide any documents if the scholarship amount is less than INR 50,000. They must send a copy of their documents to their respective schools/colleges/institutes. Students should maintain the following documentation on hand for any other scholarships-

- Certificate of Residence (as specified in the respective scholarship guidelines).

- Obtain an AISHE Code for your Institute- This part allows institutions that are not yet registered on the site to do so by simply filling out the relevant form.

National Scholarship Portal Through Mobile App
Given the advancement of mobile technology, the government of India released the "National Scholarship Portal Mobile App' in 2018 to make scholarship applications easier and more comfortable for students. Students can download and install the mobile app on their own mobile devices from the Google Play Store. In addition, the NSP mobile app is available in the government's earlier announced "UMANG" app. If a candidate already has the UMANG app loaded on their mobile device, they may begin applying for scholarships by enrolling in the NSP mobile app. The app provides complete access to the National Scholarship Portal's features.
