Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala, initiated the Joseph Mundassery Scholarship to award scholarships to the students from minority communities, like Christians, Buddhists, Jain, Sikhs, Muslims, and Parsi. The scholarships under this scheme are available for pursuing SSLC, UG and PG degrees by the students of Kerala. This scholarship shall be available to only students who belong to the minority community. The annual income limit shall be taken consideration while making the choice of students. Eligibility Explained for Joseph Mundassery Scholarship
Eligibility for this scholarship requires that the following prerequisites be met:
- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Kerala with strong roots to the state.
- Candidates from Minority communities are especially encouraged to apply to the scheme so as to promote and include them within the program. Also, the benefit of this scheme will extend to Below Poverty Line families.
- The student should be enrolled in SSLC, Plus 2, or VHSE courses, promoting the student's academic growth in the foundational levels.
- Each applicant must have an individual bank account in his/her name. This will facilitate direct and smooth financial transactions.
- Families whose annual income does not exceed ₹8 lakhs are eligible for the scheme, ensuring that the assistance goes to those who need it most.
- Only students who achieve marks between 75% and 85% qualify, supporting consistent academic excellence.
