IBPS Clerk Job Profile:

A person handling the position of clerk in a bank is often called as “Single Window Operator” as he is responsible for everyday office and accounts related issues in bank. Other than the mentioned responsibilities the clerk also needs to take care of below mentioned activities in the bank:

  • Handling everyday cash withdrawals and deposits
  • Taking responsibility of daily drafts, cheque receipt, pay orders and dividend warrants
  • Making sure that payments are getting cleared on regular basis
  • Balance sheet maintenance
  • Keeping track of Balance tally, ledger, ESI Stamps
  • Data Entry
  • Issuing cheque books to clients
  • Typing and recording important information about banks
  • Pitching and marketing the bank products like mutual funds, loans, schemes and others.

IBPS Clerk Salary and Allowances:

A bank clerk receives a decent salary along with other perks and allowances to work at his post. The allowances include House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Travel Allowance (TA) and others. Working as a bank clerk the candidates gets enormous opportunities to grow and get promoted to the next level. The overall salary package of the candidate may vary from bank to bank and city to city. The basic salary of a bank clerk is as mentioned below:

  • Basic pay of bank clerk is Rs. 11, 765 to Rs. 31, 540
  • Every year there is a chance of increment of Rs. 400 to 500 depending on performance
  • Depending on the location of the bank, HRA will vary from Rs. 1058.85 to Rs. 1176.5
  • DA is applied quarterly as per the Consumer Price Index
  • Travel allowance received by a bank clerk is Rs. 425 approximately

Considering the fact that a bank clerk has to take care of a lot of responsibility hence the work pressure is considerably high and the candidate is expected to bring more business along with keeping the current clients happy.

IBPS Clerk Transfer:

The job of a bank clerk includes multiple transfers in their serving period. They transfer can be in the preferred city or state of the candidates sometimes, but mostly the transfer is based on the requirement created in a particular bank. Candidates may also need to serve in rural areas for some time.
