What is a good rank in GATE Exam?

The most renowned technical institutes such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and the Indian Institutes of Information & Technology (IIITs) are allowed to release their own GATE Cutoff for admission to the programs offered by them. Candidates wishing to participate any of these institutes will be required to clear the cutoff of these respective institutes. While the other participating institutes refer to the GATE Cutoff release by GATE COAP for admission.

  • For admission to the top IITs, the candidates must qualify GATE Exam by obtaining the GATE Rank below 200 and admission to the top NITs, the students should obtain a GATE Rank in the range of 350-800.
  • Students with ranks ranging between 600 and 800 will also be considered eligible for admission to IITs and IIITs.

Candidates appearing in the exam must note that there are some GATE 2023 Papers such as Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering which are conducted in multiple sessions due to the large number of applications received.
