The SC/ST/OBC Development Department, Government of Kerala manages the e-Grantz 2023-2024 online portal. The role of this portal is to centrally hand out scholarships and stipends to candidates within the state.
The e-Grantz allows students belonging to reserved categories to apply for the scholarship online at the post-enrollment level. Also, if a candidate is not able to submit the online application, the e-Grantz portal gives the provision for colleges to accept the applications on the student’s behalf.
Over time, the portal has profited over 3 lakh students studying across 3400+ colleges in Kerala.

Scholarship Details- E-Grantz
The E-Grantz portal only lists post-matric scholarships for candidates coming from SC, OBC, OEC, and other economically and socially backward backgrounds. The amount of financial aid that is given to candidates through these schemes depends on the category and present academic qualification. Moreover, with the support of this advanced platform, the chosen candidates are awarded scholarship amounts, which directly get deposits into their account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
Key Eligibility Criteria - E- Grantz
The key eligibility in E- Grants majorly depends on the candidate’s current academic qualification, domicile, the category to which you belong, and family income. The details are mentioned below:
Academic Qualification
- Students enrolled in pre- or post-matriculation programmes at an accredited university or board may apply.
They have to be admitted based on the merit and reservation quota. - Students who want to be considered for the scholarship must attend classes 75% of the time each month.

Income Criteria
- For candidates belonging to SC and OECs, there is no income limitation
- For candidates belonging to OBC category- The income limit is Rs 1,00,000 per annum for + 2 courses, Degree, PG, and Professional courses.
- For candidates belonging to other categories- The income limit is Rs 1,00,000 for a +2 course, Degree, PG, and Professional courses.
Rewards for E-Grantz
Students will get various financial assistance through the E-Grantz scholarship. The details are mentioned below:
For Candidates belonging to SC Category
- ₹630 – The rate of the stipend is designated for students who are studying in a college below 8 km from their residence.
- ₹750 – The stipend is designated to students who are studying in a college above 8 km from their residence.
- ₹1500 – The students who are pursuing professional courses and are residing on their own will receive this amount as a stipend.
For Students Belonging to OBC Category
- Rs 160 - Candidates enrolled in any +2 course program listed college under the scholarship scheme
- Rs 200 (Day Scholars) and Rs 250 (Hosteller) - The candidates must be pursuing PG or professional courses listed among the programs eligible for this scholarship.
- Rs 100 (Day Scholars) and Rs 150 (Hosteller) - The candidates must be pursuing
