What is CAT Exam?

Common Admission Test also known as CAT Exam is a computer- based test (CBT) which is held for admissions in graduate management programmes. It consists of three parts: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). CAT Exam is administered by India Institutes of Management (IIM).

CAT Exam Fees 2023

CAT Exam fees or OBC and  general category INR 2400 and for special categories like  SC, ST and PwD candidates CAT exam fees is INR 1200. This includes the IIM application fees as well as the CAT registration expenses. You do not need to pay any further money to apply to the other 20 IIMs after you have paid this sum

Admission to 20 IIMs via the CAT in 2023

Things to Remember in CAT 2023

Given below are the list of important things you must remember in CAT 2023

  • You must choose the relevant management programmes at each of the 20 IIMs when completing the CAT 2023 online application.
  • Before filling out the form, you must read the instructions very carefully that appear at the beginning of the CAT application.
  • If you provide any inaccurate information on your application, your candidacy will be deemed invalid and your CAT Exam fees will be forfeited
  • The registration form can be saved and returned any number of times so you can update and finish it later before submitting it.
  • You can select six test locations according to your preferences for CAT 2023, keeping them in that order.

Work Experience for CAT Exam:

If you have full-time work experience, you must include the following information:

  • industry and employment history (in months).
  • After graduation, only full-time employment will be taken into consideration.
  • Part-time employment, projects, internships, and pre-graduation employment should not be listed and will not be taken into account.

CAT Exam Programs: 

You must choose the programmes you want to apply for in this area. There are endless options for programmes. You must choose an interview city for each programme you choose.

Additionally, you must choose one of the four test cities from the drop-down option. You will be assigned one of the four preferred cities and one of the two chosen sessions after the registration deadline.

CAT Exam Fees Payment: 

After verifying the information entered on the form, you can pay CATExam Fees using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. You will be led to the Application Summary with your payment transaction number after the successful payment transaction.

The following is a discussion of the comprehensive CAT registration and application process:

1st Step: CAT Registration for 2023

Click "Register Now" on the official website (iimcat.ac.in). Your login credentials will be generated by this.

Fill in the boxes with the necessary information (Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, and Mobile Number). Make sure all of your information is accurate, especially your contact information, to avoid any issues getting test-related information. Fill out the fields on the CAT registration/application form by following the directions below:

Name -. The name should match what is on your SSC or 10th Standard certificate. If your name changes as a result of marriage or for any other reason, you must provide supporting documentation, such as a court affidavit or marriage certificate.

Date of birth - Use caution while entering your date of birth on the digital calendar.

Email address - The email address needs to be legitimate. This email address will receive the CAT ID/username. Both the Username and Password will be emailed to international candidates.

Cell Phone number: The mobile number provided must be legitimate because it will be used to send an SMS containing the password. The number should have 10 digits and be based in India.

Step 2: Access the CAT website.

The following step is to fill out your CAT application form on the official website by logging in using your system-generated User ID and Password. A new password will be provided to your registered email address if you click the "Forgot Password" link on the "Existing User" login box.

Before filling out the entire application form, keep the following instructions in mind:

All fields with a '*' next to them must be filled out.

You must fill out all essential fields and submit scanned versions of all required papers.

Click "Save & Continue" to save your changes before moving on to the next section.

To go to the next field, click the mouse rather than pressing the "Tab" key.

By checking in to the next session, you are able to complete the application procedure over several sessions. However, before logging out of the previous sessions, double check that the application form fields were correctly saved.

You won't be able to make any changes to the information or documents you submit after paying the application cost.

 Step 3: Fill out and submit the CAT Registration Form 2023

You can begin filling out the CAT application form once you log in. The form typically has the following five sections:

  • It contains the following information: name, father's/husband's/name, guardian's mother's name, date of birth, gender, category, communication address, mobile number, and email address of the candidate.
  • The candidate who falls under the SC, ST, or OBC categories must supply information about their caste or tribe, including its name, state or UT, and serial number.
  • Furthermore, a scanned copy of each of the following papers must be uploaded:
  • A passport-size photo and your signature, together with a PWD/DA certificate, if necessary for the category.

You must submit your previous academic records for: Details for the SSC/10th standard or its equivalent, the HSC/12th standard or its equivalent, the bachelor's degree, the master's degree, and any other professional degrees.
